Central Oregon Truck Company was founded by a couple of flatbed drivers in 1992, running exclusively local and regional flatbed freight in the Pacific Northwest. We have been tarping, strapping, and throwing chains every day since. If it goes on a flatbed then we haul it across all 48 states and Canada on our lightweight aluminum Reitnouer trailers pulled by our fleet of Kenworth tractors.

Central Oregon Truck Company is on the lookout for an experienced and driven Brokerage Manager to join our growing team. If you have an existing book of business and the proven skills to manage and expand freight brokerage operations, we want to hear from you.

The Brokerage Manager role involves prospecting for new customers and carriers for our brokerage division, maintaining and enhancing current brokerage relationships with shippers and carriers, and promoting our brand. Key responsibilities include management and documented growth of our established brokerage book of business as well as the current brokerage team, providing exceptional customer service, presenting innovative transportation solutions and growing our customer base for our brokerage division.  The candidate will work both independently and collaboratively, adapting to the business needs, managing the current team of employees, and supporting various functions as required.

Scope of Work:

  • Qualify and actively prospect for new customers and carriers by identifying potential clients through research and outreach and developing strategies to engage and convert prospects into customers.
  • Solicit new customers and carriers to promote and expand the company brand by actively seeking out new business opportunities and utilizing various marketing and sales techniques.
  • Meet and exceed high volume daily cold call goals by achieving and surpassing daily targets for cold calling and lead generation and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency in outreach efforts.
  • Maintain and improve current customer and carrier relationships by fostering strong, ongoing relationships with existing clients and implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Build customer relationships by providing superior customer service, ensuring exceptional service delivery to meet and exceed customer expectations, and addressing customer inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Present customers with creative, cost-effective transportation solutions by developing and proposing innovative solutions tailored to their needs and highlighting the value and benefits of the proposed solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations and spend time away from home office to cultivate new customer relationships and maintain current customer relationships.
  • Management, training, and growth of team.
  • Expansion of brokerage service to other modes of transportation outside of flatbed trucking.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field, preferred but not required
  • Current pipeline for customers and carriers in the truckload brokerage industry
  • Minimum 8 years of job-related experience
  • Minimum 5 year of experience in transportation brokerage -related sales
  • Proven ability to succeed in a performance-based compensation environment.
  • Proven ability to grow revenue and voulume in truckload brokerage industry
  • Proven track record or management of customer, carriers and staff
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
