The company was formed with one tractor/trailer unit and has grown to over 100 units, and 5 terminals throughout the United States and Canada. We are seeking a experienced Operation Supervisor to join Westfreight System. The successful candidate will have experience in flat deck/step LTL shipments along with over dimensional projects, full truckloads and crossborder freight movements with ditrect experience dispatching. You will possess excellent critical thinking and analytical skills along with being deadline driven. The role also involves prospecting for new customers, maintaining and enhancing current customer relationships, and promoting our brand. Key responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, presenting innovative transportation solutions, and achieving high volume cold call targets. The candidate will work both independently and collaboratively, adapting to business needs and supporting various functions as required.

Customer Acquisition:

  • Qualify and actively prospect for new customers by identifying potential clients through research and outreach and developing strategies to engage and convert prospects into customers.
  • Solicit new customers to promote and expand Westfreight Systems brand by actively seeking out new business opportunities and utilizing various marketing and sales techniques.
  • Meet and exceed high volume daily cold call goals by achieving and surpassing daily targets for cold calling and lead generation and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency in outreach efforts.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain and improve current customer relationships by fostering strong, ongoing relationships with existing clients and implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Build customer relationships by providing superior customer service, ensuring exceptional service delivery to meet and exceed customer expectations, and addressing customer inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.

What you bring:

  • 3 years of experience in the transportation industry and non-retail commissioned sales is required
  • 3 years of experience dispatching trucks with cross border movements
  • Less Than Truckload (LTL) experience required
  • Deck Full Truckload (FTL) experience required
  • Executes daily customer/vendor contract requirement and identifies accessorial activity and ensures necessary documentation
  • Provides professional environment with relation to external customers such as drivers, dispatchers, customer representatives
  • Enforce all company and DOT regulations and safety policies
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with existing and new customers
  • Generate new business and overall growth of company by conducting sales calls and visits to customer base
  • Develop cost estimates and quotes on upcoming projects including RFPs/bids
  • Experience dispatching trucks and using dispatch system (TMW) and ELD system (PeopleNet)
  • Drive company initiatives to improve productivity and empty miles efficiencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills
