We are growing and looking for a qualified Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic to join our team TODAY.

Duties and responsibilities:

The Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance services on commercial transport vehicles. Ensuring all work done meets manufacturers specifications and legislated regulations. Interpreting, processing work orders along with providing performance evaluations, mentorship, and supervision to the apprentice team.

Scope:

  • Ensure that all equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, and in a timely manner, resulting in proper function and availability.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of truck-trailer and trailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems.
  • Promote image and safety awareness; follow policies and procedures on quality, health, safety, and environment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Licensed Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic with minimum 3 years experience required
  • CVIP Certification will be considered an asset
  • Class 1 License will be considered an asset
  • Safety conscious approach to all job duties while maintaining a safe and clean work area
  • Interpreting work orders and technical manuals
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance services
  • Diagnosing faults or malfunctions 
  • Adjusting equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems on truck and trailers
  • Completing service repair orders and bill out all parts used on repair order
  • Capable of working in a physically demanding multi-tasking work environment
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail, be extremely organized and can reliably document failures and repairs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of all relevant governing legislation and regulatory standards
